Wee Sheep

Inspired by a photograph taken whilst cycling from Penrith to Kendal on a stormy afternoon in August 2020.

The weather in Cumbria provides a dramatic backdrop to the rugged landscape of the area. A contrast in textures between foreboding clouds, rough dry stone walls and the soft, white sheep's wool and the scene is set.

I remember the dilemma of whether to stop the bike and take the photo or whether to keep pedalling. With such a perfect Cumbrian vignette in front of me, I simply had to stop and capture the moment.“
